Who we are
Our school lies in the centre of the district Micro V which is the youngest one in the town of Hunedoara.
Hunedoara is a town which has more than 70.000 habitants. At the same time, it was, in the past, one of biggest industrial centres of Romania. One can really say that the second big siderurgical iron and steel-works- as size- in the country functioned here several years ago.
Situated not far from Mount Poiana- Rusca, our town is crossed by the Cerna River on which constructors built the Cinciş water- storage dam, nowadays an attractive recreation place.
It is worth mentioning the fact that Hunedoara houses a very old and famous castle belonging to the XIVth- XVth centuries, an early property of Prince Iancu of Hunedoara. The Hunedoara Castle represents one of the most valuable monuments of mediaeval architecture in this country. It blends Gotic style with elements of the Renaissance and of the Baroque styles. Now, the castle arranged like a museum, is open to visitors.
School no. 11 from Hunedoara opened in September 1976, consisting, at that time, of a number of 1159 pupils, distributed like this:
748 pupils – 23 classes for primary school
411 pupils – 13 classes for secondary school
Over the years the school has been managed by the following teachers :
1. Căroi Ioan
2. Muntean Gheorghe
3. Chintoanu Dorina
4. Palcău Letiţia Lia
Our school reached the maximum number of pupils, 1601 and the maximum number of classes – 45 – between 1984 – 1985 when there existed 25 classes for primary school and 20 classes for secondary school. Then our school had the largest number of pupils and classes in the town.
